CleanSpark Mines 697 Bitcoin in January
According to CleanSpark, the company mined a record 697 bitcoin in a single month, up 50% from what was mined in December 2022.
Zach Bradford, CEO of CleanSpark, said, "We had a great month, and not only because we mined a record number of bitcoin." We achieved 98% uptime across all of our sites, making it the most reliable month ever for us.
Additionally, the business disclosed that its bitcoin holdings have increased by 32% since December 2022 to 301 BTC. The company sold 624 bitcoins in January 2023 for an average price of about $19K per BTC, funding operations and growth, the paper said. BTC sales generated earnings of almost $11.9 million.
With a hash rate of 6.6 EH/s, CleanSpark now has a fleet of over 66,000 most recent generation bitcoin miners, an increase of 7% from December 2022 and 214% from January 2022, respectively. Just a month ago, CleanSpark announced the start of construction on its 50 MW expansion in Washington, Georgia, which will house the company's newest bitcoin mining operation.
The business has faced difficulties, though; it is currently the subject of a lawsuit brought by an investor, and most recently, a law firm is looking into the company's officers and directors. In court, the most recent motion to dismiss that case was turned down.
Despite these changes, the business is still moving on with its expansion plans and is upbeat about its chances for the future in the bitcoin mining sector.
