Twitter is creating its own cryptocurrency wallet.
Wong specifically mentioned that Twitter is developing a "wallet prototype" in a tweet from the 24th of October. The cryptocurrency wallet will also enable deposits and withdrawals. The tech reporter provided no additional information outside the development of the crypto wallet prototype. When pressed for more information, she responded that she would reveal more as soon as more information became available.
The social networking site already supported cryptocurrencies before the rumor of a Twitter cryptocurrency wallet. The business released a tool that lets consumers tip content producers with Bitcoin last year. A few months later, Ethereum users may tip in the native cryptocurrency of Twitter. The business launched a number of tools that allowed users to connect their cryptocurrency wallets to their profiles while Jack Dorsey was the CEO. Users recently began to show their non-fungible tokens (NFT) on their profile photographs. Twitter will soon have cryptocurrency wallets available, making it a fully-fledged Web3 platform.
Twitter's Bluesky
Additionally, Twitter has a distinct section called "Bluesky," a project aimed at creating a decentralized social network system. Platforms will be able to function outside of a conventional corporate structure thanks to Bluesky's ability to function as a social protocol. Dorsey founded the project, which was unveiled in 2019 and is currently in the research stage. Bluesky invited interested parties to sign up for its waitlist before the beta test before the launch. Added was:
It's obvious that a new strategy for using social media is receiving a lot of interest. We'll be distributing invitations to the private beta gradually while ensuring that the protocol scalable and gathering user input along the way.
The decentralized social media protocol said in a tweet that it had 30K sign-ups for its app's waiting list in just 48 hours.
According to yesterday's Coinspeaker story, Twitter and NFT marketplaces are developing a new NFT feature called "tweet tiles." NFTs and call-to-action (CTA) collection objects can now be shared on the platform by users thanks to the newest feature. Since August, Tweet files have notably been in testing, and reputable media outlets like the New York Times have had access to them.
The ability to integrate NFTs, complete with pertinent information and a direct link to the marketplace, will promote sales and support the discovery of new and emerging collections, according to a recent press release.
