Response from Kanye West to Being "Canceled By" JPMorgan Chase
Kanye West, an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer, has recently faced a lot of criticism. On October 9, Kanye West posted a tweet asking, "Who do you think started cancel culture?" More recent posts, however, have been deleted from the celebrity's Twitter site. Ye has also drawn criticism for most recently donning a "White Lives Matter" t-shirt. Ye hinted to a potential 2020 presidential bid in a tweet he posted on October 7 that featured a picture of a hat that read "2024."
Following all the commotion surrounding the rapper from Atlanta, political analyst Candace Owens shared an alleged letter Ye allegedly received from the financial behemoth JPMorgan in a tweet.
On Wednesday, Owens tweeted, "Earlier today I learnt that [Kanye West] was formally fired from JP Morgan Chase bank." He has until late November to locate a new bank for the Yeezy enterprise, but they also issued him this letter to confirm that there was no formal explanation provided.
Owens continued:
These are incredibly ominous times for this nation. I'd like to start a conversation about who it is that has brought us to these times.
Ye responds by stating that he is delighted to bring bank cancellation to the forefront of discussions.
Following Owens' tweet, the New York Times' Dealbook reported that JPMorgan "had closed the rapper's account." Ye spoke with Page Six about the incident and said that he was glad he had exceeded the line. The rapper said, "Hey, if you call someone out for terrible business, that implies you're being antisemitic." "I feel relieved to have stepped over that boundary so we can talk openly about things like getting canceled by a bank," the speaker said.
Ye's tale comes in the wake of a recent news of a mistaken terms of service (ToS) update sent out by Paypal. According to a copy of Paypal's Terms of Service, users who propagate what the corporation referred to as "misinformation" will be fined $2,500. After receiving criticism on social media, Paypal stated the material on user policies was released in error and withdrew it. The payments company stated: "Recently, an AUP notice that contained inaccurate information was sent out in error."
Following the Paypal ToS blunder, searches for "Delete Paypal" on the internet increased by 1,400%. Ye should transition to censorship-resistant currency like bitcoin, according to cryptocurrency proponents on the Reddit forum r/bitcoin (BTC). Reddit user wrote:
Even though I have little interest in pop culture or celebrities, this scenario offers a tremendous opportunity. If this person publicly responded to JPMorgan on social media with the words "F*** the banks then, I'll go over to Bitcoin," it would draw a lot of attention to the cryptocurrency.
